Surgical Services for Pets

We prioritize your pet's comfort and care from surgery to recovery.

Surgery can feel like a daunting procedure when solely leaving your pet’s care in our hands on the operating table. We believe we are the best team to handle your pet, with years of expertise and practice doing a range of operations. Before your pet has any procedure, we’ll thoroughly discuss what to expect so you can feel more at ease about the process.

How do you ensure my pet’s safety?

Before surgery, our team performs pre-surgery procedures to ensure your pet’s surgery will go smoothly. Our pre-surgery bloodwork helps us to assess your pet’s overall health and determine if there could be any potential complications during the surgery. By establishing a baseline of their health, we can act quickly if any sudden changes happen while in the operating room.

What type of surgeries do you offer?

We perform surgery on dogs and other animals daily including spay and neuter procedures, lump removals, and hip, knee and other orthopedic surgeries. We also provide surgical care for a variety of animals. Our experienced on-staff surgeons use new procedures to instill safety and comfort for your pet. Our surgical facilities include a veterinary intensive care unit and we maintain separate surgical areas for cats and dogs for pet owners in the North Bay area.

Our surgery on dogs and cats includes C-sections and exploratory surgeries as well as procedures that are more complex. Our animal veterinary surgical staff will meet with you before the procedure to let you know what to expect the day of surgery and to advise you how to prepare your pet.

How can I help my pet to recover?

Our veterinary team will provide specific instructions on how to care for your pet post-surgery. If you have any questions about their recovery, please contact us at 705-476-3913. Some general post-operative care include:

  • Ensure your pet’s incisions remain clean and dry
  • Make sure your pet doesn’t bite or chew at their incisions
  • Limit your pet’s activity level immediately after surgery
  • Follow your pet’s pain management plan
  • Monitor your pet for any sudden changes and share your concerns with us
